Abluum’s programs align with an evidence-based “upstream” social development strategy for supporting community health. Rather than focusing on specific subgroups within the community, or treating individual health issues once they arise, our programs support the entire community to help prevent health issues before they occur, essentially “moving upstream”. Our programs bring people together to enjoy unique creative experiences, cultivating a thriving community through the healing power of the arts.
Abluum’s goal is to create community arts and cultural events designed to build a thriving resilient community that accommodates, celebrates, and includes everyone. Inclusive social connection is essential to reducing stigma by developing more acceptance and understanding, proven to be a key catalyst for improving overall health and well-being for all.
Arts Abluum’s programs and events actively address a key social determinant of health by counteracting the negative impacts of social isolation, creating connection and building resilience with a creative community that cares.
Abluum’s social development strategy aims to make all feel respected and valued in a welcoming, supportive, and accessible environment celebrating community and creativity.
Together we can create supportive communities of care that generate positive net benefits to society by taking an “upstream” approach to addressing the social determinants of health as a way to improve physical and mental health and support long-term rates of recovery.
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity supported entirely by donations. Help us to build a thriving creative community that cares through the healing power of the arts.
